Democracy Strengthening and Election Violence Prevention in Nigeria

“Building Community Resilience in Southern Kaduna to Ensure Peaceful 2019 General Elections”. Matching support was provided by Irish Aid, KAICIID and Global Peace Foundation. PSP’s leadership team coached implementation and conducted the project evaluation.

GPF Nigeria engaged Southern Kaduna multi-sector stakeholders in constructive and sustained dialogue to prevent violent conflicts during the 2019 electoral period, and to build local capacity by training them in skills needed to ensure peace during elections. The project was implemented over a period of seven months (October 2018 – April 2019) to prevent pre and post-election violence, and ensure peace before, during, and after the February 2019 General Elections in Nigeria.
